Indoors and out
Marching bands, handled
Band practice is a huge deal: rehearsals, sectionals, halftime shows, parades and competitions.
How the schedule works
Bands rehearse a lot: full band, sectionals and on the field. They play halftime shows, parades, concerts and competitions, each with a call time and what to bring.
- Rehearsals and practices, weekly⏱️
- At another team's game: moves when the game moves🎉
- Performances, parades, competitions🎭
Volunteer jobs to start with
Every new marching band starts with these. Rename them, add your own, and ask for so many people per job on any game or event. Booster parents pick a job in the Player app.
- Pit crew. Moving the pit, props and equipment on and off the field.
- Uniforms. Fitting, handing out and collecting uniforms.
- Chaperones. Traveling with the band.
- Instrument truck. Driving the trailer or a big vehicle for instruments.
- Concession stand. Selling snacks and drinks, and cleaning up after.
- Tickets and gate. Selling or checking tickets at the entrance.
- Parking directions. Showing cars where to park, before and after.
- Security. Keeping an eye on the entrances and the crowd.
- Setup and cleanup. Getting things ready before, and putting them away after.
- Moving equipment. Carrying and loading gear, before and after.
- Driving. Carpools and transportation. Say if you have a big vehicle.
- Bringing food. Snacks, team meals, or a dish to share.
